DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board of Supervisors present a plaque of appreciation recognizing Public Health Nurse Julie Morgan upon her retirement from Solano County Health and Social Services, Public Health Division, with over 11 years of public service to Solano County and over 13 years of dedicated public service.

SUMMARY:

Julie Morgan began her public health career in 2001 with the Yolo County Public Health Department, where she served over two years as a Public Health Nurse in Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health.

Julie Morgan began her service with Solano County in 2007 and rejoined the County in 2015 for a total of over 11 years serving Solano County Public Health with distinction, primarily as a Public Health Nurse Case Manager in the Tuberculosis Control Program. Her work has been instrumental in managing complex tuberculosis cases, conducting contact investigations, and ensuring clients receive complete and effective treatment. Julie's dedication has helped prevent the spread of tuberculosis and protect the health of countless families across Solano County.

In addition to her core responsibilities, Julie has supported tuberculosis prevention work at the regional, State, and even international levels. She served on the California Tuberculosis Controllers Association's Executive Committee, co-founded a multi-county Tuberculosis Public Health Nurse support group, and collaborated with the University of California, San Francisco Curry International Tuberculosis Center on train...
