DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors authorize the County’s contribution of $1,500 from the General Fund contribution allocated to District 1 to benefit the following organizations, including Future Leadership Solano for youth leadership development programs ($500) and Lady Echelon Project for educational development, career readiness, and community engagement programs for youth and young adults ($1,000).
SUMMARY / DISCUSSION:
District 1 has identified two local nonprofit organizations to receive non-County contributions totaling $1,500. These organizations provide programs and services that support youth leadership, educational development, career readiness, and community engagement, helping young people throughout Solano County build the skills and confidence needed for future success.
Future Leadership Solano ($500)
Future Leadership Solano provides high school students in Vallejo and throughout Solano County with opportunities to develop leadership skills, learn about local government, and engage with community leaders. The County's contribution will support educational experiences, community service activities, and hands-on projects that encourage civic participation, strengthen leadership abilities, and prepare students to become active, engaged members of their communities.
