DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Probation Department recommends the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and approve a plaque of appreciation honoring Crystal Riley, Supervising Deputy Probation Officer, upon her retirement from the Solano County Probation Department, with over 21 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Crystal Riley began her employment with the Solano County Probation Department as Deputy Probation Officer on March 21, 2005. She was promoted to Senior Deputy Probation Officer on November 23, 2014, and to Supervising Deputy Probation Officer on May 20, 2018.
Ms. Riley provided 21 years of service to the Solano County community, serving in a wide range of assignments within the Department, applying caring support and supervision to clients, and leadership and professionalism to staff in Solano County.
Ms. Riley was influential in many ways and through different assignments in the Adult and Juvenile Divisions. Early in her career, she worked in various capacities in the Adult Court Investigations Unit, Adult General Supervision, Juvenile Supervision, Juvenile Sex Offender Supervision, and New Foundations. She was a facilitator of cognitive behavioral groups (Crossroads and Motivational Interviewing) and a department trainer for CE Assessments. Later, Ms. Riley's passion for transforming lives, rehabilitation, and the restoration of victims/survivors led her to a career in services and programming, specifically at the Center for Positive Change and the Collaborative Specialty Court Units: Domestic Violence and Veteran and Drug Courts.
