DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Sheriff recommends that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve a first amendment with Genasys, Inc. for $93,633 for a not to exceed amount of $408,419 through July 11, 2026, for continued evacuation zone plan and management services;
2. Delegate authority to the County Administrator to execute the contract amendment and any subsequent amendments, with County Counsel concurrence, up to an aggregate of $74,999; and
3. Authorize the Sheriff, Undersheriff, or Director of Administrative Services to execute contract amendments which are technical or administrative in nature.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County entered into a three-year contract with Genasys Inc., previously Zonehaven, on July 12, 2022, in the amount of $314,756. This project was funded through the 2021 California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CALFIRE), Fire Prevention Grant Program. Genasys, Inc. provides evacuation planning software, including a public facing website that allows the community to view evacuation orders and warnings issued by law enforcement agencies countywide.
