DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution appointing Glenda Riddle as Director of the Solano Resource Conservation District to fill the remainder of an unexpired term through November 26, 2026.
SUMMARY:
The Solano Resource Conservation District has a vacancy due to an unplanned resignation. Pursuant to Solano Resource Conservation District Resolution #02-103, vacancies arising on the Board of Directors for the Solano Resource Conservation District are filled by appointment by the Board of Supervisors in lieu of an election.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2023-24 Working Budget. The County incurs no costs in making these appointments.
DISCUSSION:
On August 16, 202,3 the Solano Resource Conservation District received an unplanned resignation notice from a Board member with a term set to expire on November 26, 2026.
Per qualifications listed in California Public Resource Conservation Code ? 9352 "directors shall (1) reside within the district and either own real property in the district or alternatively have served, pursuant to the district's rules, for two years or more as an Associate Director providing advisory or other assistance to the Board of Directors" Ms. Riddle has previously served as a Director for the Solano Resource Conservation District and is currently serving as an Associate Director. In the capacity of Associate Director, Ms. Riddle is an advisor to the Board; however, does not have the authority to vote.
