DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Director of Library Services recommends that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve a first amendment with Solano County Library Foundation in the amount of $40,493 for a total contract not to exceed $181,018, to provide an additional tutoring site for the FY2025/26 youth literacy program, Libraries Leading to Reading; and
2. Delegate authority to the Director of Library Services to execute the contract and any associated extensions or amendments, with County Counsel concurrence, which are technical or administrative in nature, have no fiscal impact, and are within the guidelines of County policies.
SUMMARY:
Solano County Library is extending its FY2025/26 Libraries Leading to Reading youth literacy program, which matches students and tutors for five to seven weeks of one-to-one tutoring, utilizing principles based on the Science of Reading, to include an additional tutoring site. The Solano County Library Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides administrative program support and serves as the fiscal agent for the FY2025/26 Libraries Leading to Reading program.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
