DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board receive a presentation by the Department of General Services on the selection of Shilo Moore as the October 2016 "Employee of the Month" for the County Administration Center Parking Program making her eligible to use the parking space designated for this purpose.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The "Employee of the Month" Parking Program for County employees has been in place since September 13, 2005, with a rotating monthly departmental assignment where departments may recognize an employee for their efforts by providing the utilization of parking space No.1 in the County Parking Garage for one month.

October 2016 has been selected as the month for Department of General Services to recognize one of its exemplary employees: Shilo Moore. She has been employed as an Office Assistant II for the department since June 2007. Shilo is well respected by her peers, is very committed to her duties, consistently delivers outstanding services to County Departments and epitomizes an excellent work ethic. Shilo supports the County Facilities Operations Division and staff, which consists of; building maintenance, grounds, custodial, administration bureaus, and includes coordination of services with other county departments, internal divisions and various outside agencies.

Shilo was instrumental integrating old labor tracking data into current software for all divisions within General Services. Her attention to detail in implementing an upload procedure to effectively transfer information from one software system to another has been a time saving measure.
