DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve a fourth contract amendment with Canyon Manor for $80,812 for a total contract amount of $1,506,880 to cover costs incurred to provide sub-acute psychiatric residential treatment for seriously, persistently mentally ill persons with complex psychiatric needs in a locked Mental Health Rehabilitation Center for the period of July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024; and delegate authority to the County Administrator to execute the amendment.
SUMMARY:
Canyon Manor is licensed as a 24-hour mental health rehabilitation center and locked treatment program that provides intensive rehabilitation treatment programming and nursing care for gravely disabled and severely mentally ill clients. In this setting, Canyon Manor supports the ongoing needs of sub-acute care clients with a personalized treatment plan, structured living environment, mental health education, regular evaluation of progress with the psychiatrist and an interdisciplinary treatment team, medication management, and residential care treatment.
The contract with Canyon Manor was originally executed for $540,448 in July of 2022. In June 2023, a first amendment increased the budget by $705,620. In October 2023, a second amendment revised the budget detail to reflect updated rates. The third amendment increased the budget by ano...
