DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends the Board of Supervisors approve a contract amendment with the Regents of the University of California, Davis for $15,810 for a total contract amount of $84,979 to provide human and social services skills training services through June 30, 2021; and authorize the County Administrator to execute the amendment.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On December 23, 2020, the County Administrator approved the contract with the Regents of the University of California, Davis for human and social services skills training services for the remainder of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. This first contract amendment will allow for uninterrupted provision of training services to Solano County and will add four (4) additional training units of service for CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) 2.0 specific trainings. CalWORKs is a public assistance program that provides cash aid and services to eligible families that have at least one child in the home. CalWORKs 2.0 is a new approach that requires training for staff.
With this contract amendment, the County will continue to benefit from the qualifications and subject matter expertise of UC Davis.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The proposed amendment includes training service fees totaling $84,979 for the County for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. The cost is included in the Department's FY2020/21 Adopted Budget are there is no impact to County General Fund.
