DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

 

Supervisor Mashburn requests that the Board approve the reappointments of Ernest Van Sant for a term through March 1, 2028, and Pat Negroni for a term through March 1, 2029, to the Dixon Fire Protection District Board, representing District 5

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

 

Mr. Van Sant has served for several years as a California Public Safety member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFECOM Committee and previously participated in the federal PSWN program. He is a long-time resident of Dixon and would wish to continue to serve on the Dixon Fire Protection District.

 

Pat Negroni, a retired Solano County Surveyor, has served the Solano County community for decades and would also wish to continue to serve on the Dixon Fire Protection District.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

 

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department’s FY2025/2026 Working Budget.

 

ALTERNATIVES:

 

The Board could choose not to reappoint, but this is not recommended. Mr. Van Sant and Mr. Negroni have been serving the board and have done a commendable job. In addition, both are well qualified and bring valuable resources and skills that benefit the Dixon Fire Protection District.
