DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of General Services recommends that the Board of Supervisors:

1. Approve an agreement for $459,143 with Honeywell Building Solutions of Sacramento for the Health and Social Services Security Camera Upgrade Project at 275 Beck Avenue in Fairfield; and

2. Authorize the County Administrator or designee to execute the agreement and any subsequent amendments, with County Counsel concurrence, within the approved project budget.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Department of General Services is recommending the Board approve an agreement (Attachment A) in the amount of $459,143 with Honeywell Building Solutions (Honeywell) of Sacramento to provide design and construction services for the Health and Social Services Security Camera Upgrade (Project) located at 275 Beck Avenue in Fairfield.

The Project will replace the outdated and unsupported security camera system with an improved, fully integrated digital video surveillance solution. The existing system was originally installed by Honeywell, is nearing the end of its service life and is no longer fully supported, resulting in limited functionality and increased maintenance challenges.

The upgrade will significantly enhance site-wide surveillance capabilities, streamline data networking and storage infrastructure, allow remote access, improve video quality, and include strategically placed cameras to ensure comprehensive coverage of critical areas.
