DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

 

Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors approve the reappointment of Mary Henderson to serve on the Solano Commission for Women and Girls representing District 1 for a term to expire on September 21, 2026.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

 

Mary Henderson has served on the Solano Commission for Women and Girls since August 24, 2021. Prior to that she had 30 plus years as a registered nurse.  Nursing experiences include administrative, acute care, surgical, NICU, correctional nursing, licensing and certification of long-term care facilities, CEO Home Health Agency.  As a Public Health Nurse with Solano County she encouraged clients to advocate for themselves and their families.  Ms. Henderson is active with Solano HEALS, BWOPA, Black Chambers, Black Infant Health Advisory Board, and Maternal and Infant Health Disparities Working group through the Solano Commission for Women and Girls.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

 

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the District 1 FY2024/25 Working Budget. 

 

ALTERNATIVES:

 

The Board may choose not to approve the appointment, but that is not the recommendation as Ms. Henderson has served for the last 4 years and is well qualified to serve on the Commission.
