DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Human Resources Department recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve a plaque of appreciation honoring Cheryl Phenix, Human Resources Benefits Manager, upon her retirement with over 18 years of dedicated service to Solano County.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Cheryl Phenix began her career with Solano County as an Office Assistant II in the Department of Health and Social Services on October 3, 2005. On February 26, 2006, she promoted to a Human Resources Assistant (Entry) in the Department of Human Resources and was promoted to a Human Resources Assistant on February 25, 2007. On January 4, 2015, Cheryl Phenix competitively promoted to Human Resources Assistant (Senior). Cheryl was selected as the County's Benefits Manager on October 29, 2023 where she remained until her retirement.

During her tenure as a Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Assistant (Senior), and Benefits Manager, Cheryl Phenix made many contributions to the success of the Department of Human Resources and Solano County. Cheryl has earned the admiration and respect of staff, colleagues and employees of the County who have benefited from her extensive knowledge and experience related to departmental operations, payroll, and benefits processes.

Cheryl Phenix is cherished by her Human Resources family for her positive attitude, compassionate spirit, nurturing personality, and warm smile. Cheryl will be missed deeply, but her legacy will continue to benefit the Department for many years to come. Human Resources joins her family and friends in wishing her a long, healthy, and happy retirement.
