DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The General Services Department recommends the Board of Supervisors approve the appointment of Dana Rounds to the Nut Tree Airport Advisory Committee (NTAAC) to fill the remainder of the Business Pilot Representative term with an expiration date of June 30, 2027.
SUMMARY:
On August 8, 2024, Harvey Martin, the Business Pilot member of NTAAC, submitted his resignation to the Airport Manager. Since then, two separate outreach efforts were conducted to advertise the vacancy. On October 22, 2024, the Board appointed Supervisor Brown and Supervisor Williams as an ad hoc committee for the purpose of interviewing the potential candidates and to make a recommendation to the Board for appointment. The ad hoc committee is recommending the appointment of Dana Rounds to the Nut Tree Airport Advisory Committee to fill the remainder of the Business Pilot Representative term with an expiration date of June 30, 2027
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact as a result of the recommended action; members of the NTAAC volunteer their time.
The costs associated with the preparation of the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2024/25 Working Budget.
DISCUSSION:
The NTAAC was established by the Board of Supervisors on June 22, 2004. The County's By-Laws for the NTAAC identify a five-member committee comprised of a Recreational Pilot, a Business Pilot, an Area Resident, a Pilots' Association Member, and a Vacaville Business Representative. The current vacancy is for the Business Pilot Representative.
