DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board receive a presentation by the District Attorney's Office on the selection of Gina Chen as the July 2019 "Employee of the Month," making her eligible to use the parking space designated for this program.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On September 13, 2005, the Board of Supervisors established the County Government Center "Employee of the Month" parking program for County employees. The District Attorney's Office has been designated to select an employee for July 2019 and has selected Gina Chen.
Gina Chen joined the Solano County District Attorney's Office on April 14, 2014 as an Accounting Technician assigned to the Administrative Unit. Ms. Chen's many responsibilities include the preparation and processing of claims for the department's special revenue units such as the Real Estate Fraud Unit, Welfare Fraud Unit, Prison Prosecution Unit, 2011 Realignment, Consumer and Environmental Crimes Unit as well as the department's seven different grant programs. Ms. Chen also assists in the preparation of the Department's annual Requested and Midyear budgets. Ms. Chen is well organized, knowledgeable, and detail oriented when performing her duties and assignments. Ms. Chen is always helpful, professional and supportive of her colleagues and co-workers. Because of her abilities, work ethic and positive attitude, Ms. Chen is a great representative of the District Attorney's Office and Solano County and therefore is deserving of the "Employee of the Month" recognition.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this designation. The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2018/19 Adopted Budget.
