DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors authorize the County's contribution of $3,500 from the General Fund contribution allocated to District 1 to benefit the following organizations, including Leaders in Men ($500), Solano Pride Foundation ($1,000), Reservoir of Help ($1,500), and Rebuilding Together Solano County ($500).
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
District 1 has identified the following local nonprofit organizations to receive its non-county contribution allocations:
Leaders in Men - $500
This contribution will serve as a sponsorship for the Women's Blueprint Empowerment Panel and reflects a shared commitment among nonprofit leaders-particularly men across Solano County-to support the advancement and empowerment of women in our communities.
Solano Pride Foundation - $1,000
This contribution will sponsor the Foundation's annual Pride event in Suisun, which brings together community members, families, and local organizations in a celebration of inclusion, identity, and unity. The funding will support event programming, outreach efforts, and the creation of a safe, welcoming space where individuals can be seen, heard, and valued.
Reservoir of Help Foundation - $1,500
This contribution will support young men in Vallejo by providing essential resources, mentorship opportunities, and access to programs that promote personal growth, leadership development, and overall well-being-helping to build a strong foundation for long-term success.
