DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor Vasquez requests the Board adopt and present a resolution recognizing May 20, 2025, as National Rescue Dog Day in Solano County.

The Solano County Sheriff's Office Animal Care and Control Division operates the County animal shelter at 2510 Claybank Road in Fairfield. There, staff can assist the public with adoptions, spay/neuter of adoptable animals, and dog licensing. In 2024, the shelter staff helped 1,472 animals connect with their forever homes. Solano County is also home to several non-profit animal and breed-specific rescue organizations.
