DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Auditor-Controller's Office (ACO) recommends the Board of Supervisors acknowledge the selection of Colleen Cole as the "Employee of the Month" for September 2024, making her eligible to use the parking space designated under this program.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On September 13, 2005, the Board of Supervisors established the County Government Center "Employee of the Month" program for County employees. Each month a County department is designated to select one of its employees as "Employee of the Month". The ACO has been designated to select an employee for September 2024.
ACO staff submitted nominations for the "Employee of the Month" award. The names of the nominees were tallied, and the nominees were presented to the managers for final selection. The ACO has selected Colleen Cole, Accounting Clerk II, as the deserving employee.
Colleen began working in the ACO in January 2022 as an Accounting Clerk II, in the General Accounting Division. Colleen is an asset to the ACO, as noted by her co-workers' nominations: "Colleen always has a great attitude, is a team player, and always asks great questions." Also, "Colleen is very responsive and gives her time and attention to our customers, regardless of her heavy workload." Colleen is very helpful to her co-workers, especially helping new co-workers get familiar with their duties, and assists with providing back-up support for staffing coverage. She remains focused on carrying out the division's goals. The ACO congratulates Colleen on being selected Employee of the Month.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this designation. The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2024/...
