DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Human Resources recommends the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution amending the Alphabetical Listing of Classes and Salaries to add the classification of Assistant District Attorney with a monthly salary range of $18,815.72 - $22,870.63.

SUMMARY:

As part of the FY2024/25 Midyear Budget, the Board of Supervisors approved the allocation of 1.0 FTE Assistant District Attorney in the District Attorney's Office. Human Resources has reviewed and updated the previous classification specification and proposes the monthly salary range of $18,815.72 - $22,870.63 for this new position.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The annual fiscal impact of the salary and benefits for 1.0 FTE Assistant District Attorney is $396,243. This cost is partially offset by the deletion 1.0 FTE Chief Deputy District Attorney resulting in an approximate net cost of $18,601. For the remainder of FY2024/25, the anticipated net cost is approximately $26,041. The costs of the new classification will be absorbed in the District Attorney's FY2024/25 Working Budget and Recommended FY2025/26 Budget.

DISCUSSION:

On March 11, 2025, through the FY2024/25 Midyear Budget process, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution No. 2025-42 to add 1.00 FTE Assistant District Attorney classification in the District Attorney's Office and delete 1.0 FTE Chief Deputy District Attorney to address the District Attorney's requested organizational model.
