DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve a first contract amendment with Kaye Bassman International Corporation for $90,000 for a total contract amount of $139,000 to provide Clinic Physician Supervisor recruitment services for the current period through June 30, 2022; and authorize the County Administrator to execute the amendment.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Kaye Bassman International Corporation (KBIC) is a firm specializing in medical facility leadership (supervisors, managers, directors, etc.) recruitment. KBIC has been recruiting at this level of leadership since 1981 and is assisting FHS in the recruitment of three Clinic Physician Supervisors to provide support and guidance to the H&SS Family Health Services (FHS) clinic medical team.

Clinic Physician Supervisors fill an integral role in the system of care as they provide support to four clinic sites throughout Solano County including supervision and medical guidance to physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Clinic Physician Supervisors are required by the State to provide supervision to mid-level providers, and they also provide direct patient care, oversee the professional conduct and practices of all medical staff, develop medical education programs and training for the system of care, assist the management team in establishing, maintaining and reviewing medical policies and procedures, and oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives ensuring that FHS patients meet the...
