SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Steven Smith began his career with the Solano County as a Correctional Officer-Entry Level on February 10, 1989 and was promoted to Correctional Officer-Journey Level on February 18, 1990.
Steven worked a variety of assignments including tower officer, roving officer, module officer, central control officer, Inmate Worker Medical module officer and court holding officer.
Steven was greatly valued and will be missed by his friends and co-workers in the Sheriff’s Office.
The resolution honors Steven Smith for his 28 years and 4 months of service and commends his dedicated service to Solano County.
Steven Smith’s official last date of employment with the Sheriff’s Office was June 22, 2017.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost of providing the plaque is included in the Board of Supervisors’ FY2016/17 budget and, therefore, will have no additional financial impact to the General Fund.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board may elect not to award the resolution and plaque of appreciation; however, this is not recommended, as this is an opportunity to honor Correctional Officer Steven Smith for his 28 years and 4 months of dedicated service to the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Solano County.
