DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Sheriff-Coroner recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Margret Cullison, Custody Sergeant, upon her retirement from the Sheriff's Office with over 27 years of dedicated service to Solano County.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Margret (Margo) Cullison began her career with the Solano County as a Correctional Officer-Entry Level on July 24, 1989 and was promoted to Correctional Officer-Journey Level on July 22, 1990.

Margo was promoted to Sergeant-Corrections on November 15, 1998 and was reclassified to Custody Sergeant on July 31, 2012.

During her career, Margo worked all shifts and multiple areas of assignment.

Margo was recognized for her outstanding writing skills with regard to custody policy and procedure. This skill set gained her recognition with the Board of State and Community Corrections, who requested her participation in their quest to revise and update policies for the entire State.

The resolution honors Margo Cullison for her 27 years and 10 months of service and commends her dedicated service to Solano County.

Margo Cullison's official last date of employment with the Sheriff's Office was May 20, 2017.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The cost of providing the plaque is included in the Board of Supervisors' FY2016/17 budget and, therefore, will have no additional financial impact to the General Fund.

ALTERNATIVES:

The Board may elect not to award the resolution and plaque of appreciation; however, this is not recommended, as this is an opportunity to honor Custody Sergeant Margo Cullison for her 27 years and 10 months of dedicated service to the Sheriff's Office ...
