DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Director of Library Services recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Sharon R. Hale upon her retirement from the Department of Library Services with over 31 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Sharon R. Hale retired on September 9, 2017. She began her career with Solano County Library on November 7, 1985 as a Student Clerical Worker at the Fairfield-Suisun Community Library (currently the Fairfield Civic Center Library). After several promotions including Library Aide, Library Assistant and Senior Library Assistant, in 1995 she was promoted into the Library’s Automation division as a Computer Operator and finally, Information Technology Specialist II. Throughout her distinguished career, Ms. Hale has provided excellent service and support to the people of Solano County.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost of providing the plaque and resolution is included in the County’s FY2017/18 Adopted Budget. There is no additional impact to the General Fund.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to adopt and present this resolution and plaque of appreciation; however, this is not recommended because this is an opportunity to recognize Sharon R. Hale’s dedication and outstanding contributions to the County and the community.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
There is no other agency involvement.
