First 5 Solano/County Administrator’s Office recommends the Solano County Board of Supervisors consider approval of the Solano Children’s Alliance membership appointments/reappointments:

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION
The multidisciplinary Solano Children’s Alliance (SCA) was established in 1982 to advise and educate the Board of Supervisors on children’s issues. The SCA consists of 20 voting members recommended by the SCA Executive Committee and appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
This agenda item brings forward six members for reappointment: Aaron Crutison, H&SS-Child Welfare; Pamela Dixon, H&SS Public Health Nurse; Lisette Estrella-Henderson, Solano County Superintendent of Schools; Sharon Henry, Solano County District Attorney’s Office; Tyffany Wanberg, Community Representative - Parents, Grandparents, and Consumers; and Maria Vicondoa, Community-Based Organization that provides services to families and youth.
In addition, this agenda item brings forward five alternates for reappointment: Debbie Powell, alternate for Aaron Crutison, H&SS-Child Welfare; Nazlin Huerta, alternate for Pamela Dixon, H&SS Public Health Nurse; Nicola Parr, alternate for Lisette Estrella-Henderson, Solano County Superintendent of Schools; Angel Aguilar, alternate for Sharon Henry, Solano County District Attorney’s Office; and Andrea Vela, alternate for Maria Vicondoa, Community-Based Organization that provides services to families and youth.
The proposed reappointments and alternates are included in the Proposed Membership Roster (Attachment A).
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact for this decision; approval will assist the SCA to reach a quorum to conduct their business.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to appoint the applicants. However, this is not recommended as the applicants have been brought forward in accordance with the approved SCA bylaws; have demonstrated an interest in the welfare of children in Solano County; and are prepared to dedicate their time to the SCA.

The Solano Children’s Alliance has recommended these appointments.
