DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

 

Supervisor Thomson and Supervisor Vasquez request the Board adopt and present a resolution recognizing G. Ben Huber for three decades of commitment, leadership, and vision with the NorthBay Healthcare Foundation’s Board of Directors.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

 

G. Ben Huber was awarded the Spirit of Philanthropy award from the NorthBay Healthcare Foundation in December 2017 after 30 years on the NorthBay Healthcare Foundation’s Board of Directors. Mr. Huber has been a Solano County resident since 1965 and has served his community by being a member of the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce and as a Fairfield City Council Member. He was also awarded the Citizen of the Year award by the City of Fairfield in 2015. Mr. Huber is the co-founder of OEA Aerospace, located in Solano County, which built pyrotechnic devices for jet fighters, missiles, and the space shuttle. Supervisor Vasquez honored Mr. Huber in December with a proclamation from District 4 and Supervisor Thomson sits on the NorthBay Board of Directors alongside G. Ben Huber.
