DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The WDC recommends that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt a resolution accepting a multi-year Tipping Point Community Emergency Relief Fund grant in the amount of $500,000 for the period of April 1, 2018 through December 31, 2019 on behalf of the Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Solano County;
2. Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request (ATR) to recognize unanticipated revenue in an amount of $30,340 for FY2017/18 (4/5 vote required); and
3. Authorize the Executive Director of the Workforce Development Board to execute the grant agreement.
SUMMARY:
On March 30, 2018, the WDB was awarded a $500,000 grant from Tipping Point Community Emergency Relief Fund to fund targeted employment services for Solano residents affected by the North Bay Fires of October 2018. The grant award period is from April 1, 2018 through December 31, 2019. WDB is requesting the Board's formal adoption of a resolution accepting this grant.
The purpose of the Emergency Relief Fund grant is to help reconnect individuals whose livelihood was affected by the North Bay Fires through job connections, business development, and skills enhancement.
