DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
First 5 Solano recommends the Board receive a presentation by First 5 Solano/County Administrator's Office on the selection of Gene Ibe as the "Employee of the Month", making her eligible to use the parking space designated for this honor.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On September 13, 2005, the Board of Supervisors established the County Government Center "Employee of the Month" Parking Program for County employees. Each month, a County department is designated to select one of its employees as "Employee of the Month." First 5 Solano/County Administrator's Office has been designated to select an employee for March 2019 and has selected Gene Ibe as the deserving employee.
Gene Ibe has been a Contracts and Program Specialist with First 5 Solano since 2016. She manages over 25 contracts with community agencies for First 5 Solano and on behalf of the Board of Supervisors. Gene is the co-lead of the Solano Kids Thrive Collective Impact Initiative, which works to increase awareness of the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on children and families. She participates in a variety of community efforts on behalf of children, including the Healthy Solano Collaborative and the Solano Partnership Against Violence, and is currently the chair of the Home Community Visiting Advisory Board.
Ms. Ibe is also the department representative to several countywide efforts, including coordination of First 5 Solano's participation in the County Food Fight and acting as First 5's County Wellness Ambassador.
