DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Health & Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board approve a contract with Caminar, Inc. for $694,766 to provide supported employment and educational services utilizing the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model for individuals with psychiatric disabilities and co-occurring challenges for the period beginning February 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020; and Authorize the County Administrator to execute the contract and any subsequent amendments including changes to terms and conditions scope of services and modifications to contract limits within budgeted appropriations.
SUMMARY:
Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) programs address a broad continuum of prevention, early intervention and direct services along with the necessary infrastructure, technology and training elements to effectively support the mental health system. Caminar, Inc. has been providing services for individuals with mental health disorders for more than 50 years in the Greater Bay Area and employment services for over 25 years. Jobs Plus, a Caminar program, is a vocational rehabilitation program providing employment services for adults with serious mental illness (SMI) in both San Mateo County and Solano County.
