DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor Jim Spering requests that the Board approve the appointment of Barbara King to the Senior Coalition of Solano County, representing District 3, for a 2 year term to expire on April 23, 2021.
SUMMARY:
Barbara King has a strong background as a social service administrator and has worked extensively with elderly low-income women. She has served on the Solano County Mental Health Advisory Board, the Napa-Solano County Big Brothers-Big Sisters Board of Directors, the Fairfield Branch of the American Association of University Board and the California Association of Court Investigators. She currently serves with the Solano Library on the Linus Project.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the District 3 FY2018/19 Adopted Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could decide not to appoint Ms. King. This is not recommended as Ms. King is well qualified for this position.
