DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Sheriff recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Deputy-Sheriff Enoch Knight, upon his retirement from the Sheriff's Office, with over 24 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Enoch Knight began his career with Solano County's Sheriff's Office as a Lateral Entry Level Deputy-Sheriff on April 30, 1995 and was promoted to Deputy-Sheriff on May 5, 1996.
Deputy-Sheriff Knight was assigned to numerous bureaus within the Field Operations Division, including Patrol, Court Security, Civil, and Transportation. He often filled in as a Field Training Officer and Officer in Charge.
Deputy-Sheriff Knight was often praised for his strong verbal and written communication. Those skills served him well in writing new Civil Policy and Procedure and training other deputies on Ramey & Steagald Warrants.
Deputy-Sheriff Knight was someone you could rely on to get the job done right the first time. He was a valued and respected member of the Sheriff's Office and will be greatly missed by his friends and coworkers.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost associated with preparing the agenda item is nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2018/19 Adopted Budget. The costs associated with preparation and purchase of the resolution materials and plaque are included in the Board's FY2018/19 Adopted Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board may elect not to adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation; however, this is not recommended, as this is an opportunity to honor Deputy-Sheriff Enoch Knight for his years of public service to the Sheriff's Office and the citizens of S...
