DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor Vasquez requests the Board approve the appointment of Milton F. Steck to the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery District Board of Trustees representing District 4 for a term to expire January 4, 2021.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
As a longtime resident of Vacaville, Pastor Steck brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board as a retired educator and retired Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Vacaville, where he provided 43 years of pastoring. Pastor Steck remains active in his community as Pastor Emeritus of Trinity Baptist Church and maintains a membership in the Vacaville Rotary Club. He enjoys working with others and has experience with budgeting and finance. He replaces Trustee Kari Rader who wishes to formally step down from the Board of Trustees pending this appointment.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing this agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the District 4 FY2019/20 Adopted Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to approve this appointment, however, that is not recommended as Pastor Steck has expressed a desire to serve his community through membership on the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery District and will bring considerable knowledge and skill to the organization.
