DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Health & Social Services (H&SS), Child Welfare Services Division recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve a plaque of appreciation honoring Patricia E. Phillips, Legal Procedures Clerk, upon her retirement from the Department of Health & Social Services, Child Welfare Services Division, with over 14 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.

SUMMARY

Patricia E. Phillips announced her plan to retire effective October 22, 2019 from her position as Legal Procedures Clerk in Child Welfare Services. Ms. Phillips's retirement brings to a close a productive career of active service to the County. Her 14 plus year career began by working as extra-help with Solano County Probation Department in Fairfield as a Legal Procedures Clerk. On November 7, 2005 Ms. Phillips was hired to a permanent position with Solano County Probation.

Ms. Phillips later took a position in Solano County Child Welfare, working in the Legal Processing Unit and culminating her time with the County in the Resource Family Approval (RFA) Unit.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2019/20 Adopted Budget. The costs associated with the preparation and purchase of the plaque are included by the Board's FY2019/20 Adopted Budget.

ALTERNATIVES:

The Board could choose to not approve the plaque of appreciation. This is not recommended as this is an opportunity to recognize Patricia E. Phillips' dedication and contributions to Solano County.
