DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of General Services recommends that the Board of Supervisors:

1. Approve a Notice of Completion for Phase 2 of the Post Office Building Improvements Project located at 600 Kentucky Street in Fairfield by Pro-Ex Construction, Inc. of Rancho Cordova; and

2. Authorize the Clerk of the Board to record the executed Notice of Completion.

SUMMARY:

On April 9, 2019, the Board awarded a construction contract to Pro-Ex Construction, Inc. to provide interior and exterior repairs at the Fairfield Post Office located at 600 Kentucky Street in (Project). During the course of construction, the quality of work satisfied the requirements of the construction documents prepared by Brick Architects of Emeryville. The Department of General Services is requesting that the Board approve the Notice of Completion for the Project and authorize the Clerk of the Board to record the document in order to release retention funds held by the County.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The Board approved a project in FY2018/19 to provide improvements to the Post Office Building at 600 Kentucky Street in Fairfield for $567,428. The project (Budget Unit 1786) was funded with the balance of Phase 1, in the amount of $32,428 from Accumulated Capital Outlay, $460,000 from General Fund Capital Renewal Reserve Fund and $75,000 from General Expenditures Fund.
