DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Director of Library Services recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and a plaque of appreciation honoring Nancy J. Wilson upon her retirement from the Department of Library Services with over 25 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Nancy J. Wilson began her career with Solano County Library on October 26, 1994, as a Librarian. Ms. Wilson earned two promotions in her long and exemplary career, including Supervising Librarian on March 6, 2011 and finally Deputy Director of Library Services on April 10, 2016.

Throughout her distinguished career, Ms. Wilson has provided excellent customer service and support to the residents of Solano County. She has played a vital and essential role in providing access to information and managing a wide variety of library services and programs throughout Solano County.

Ms. Wilson has demonstrated the highest commitment to uncompromising excellence in all matters related to public library service in Solano County.

Ms. Wilson retires on December 28, 2019, with over 25 years of outstanding service. She is greatly valued and respected and will be missed by her friends, co-workers and colleagues in the Library community for her affable personality, integrity, breadth of knowledge, sense of humor, and dedication to the highest ideals of Library culture.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The cost associated with preparing the agenda item is nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2019/20 Adopted Budget. The cost associated with preparation and purchase of the resolution and plaque is included in the Board's FY201...
