DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Resource Management recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve a Notice of Completion for
1. The Asphalt Rubber Cape Seal 2019 project;
2. The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Guardrail project; and
3. Authorize the Clerk of the Board to record the executed Notices of Completion.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Department of Resource Management has completed construction on two projects using bid contract work. The Asphalt Rubber Cape Seal 2019 contract was awarded to VSS International, Inc. on May 02, 2019 and executed on May 16, 2019. Work consisted of placing asphalt rubber chip seal with microsurface cape seal at the following locations: North Green Valley Estates, Ameral Court, Cravea Avenue, Oak & Spring Lanes, Rockville Road, Willotta Oaks, Suisun Valley Road, Gordon Valley Road, Pedrick Road, Pitt School Road, Bunker Hill Station Road, Elmira Road, Dixon Avenue, Meridian Road North, Peaceful Glen Road, South A Street, and Wolfskill Road. The work also included traffic control, flagging, crack sealing, thermoplastic striping, pavement markings, and retro-reflective markers. All work has been completed on the project in accordance with the project plans and specifications. Approval of the Notice of Completion (attachment A) allows the Department of Resource Management to close the contract with VSS International, Inc. for a final project cost of $2,222,782.

The HSIP 8 Guardrail Project was awarded to Dirt & Aggregate Interchange, Inc. on September 13, 2019 and executed on October 1, 2019. Work consisted of new guardrail installations at various locations on Clayton...
