DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve and present a plaque of appreciation honoring Roxanne Martin, LMFT, Mental Health Clinical Supervisor, upon her retirement from the Behavioral Health Division with over 18 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Roxanne Martin began her tenure at Solano County Health and Social Services in 2000 as an intern and was hired as an extra help clinician in February 2002. She secured a permanent clinician position in January 2003 in the Youth Development Program and was ultimately promoted to Mental Health Clinical Supervisor of the Family Preservation Team in December 2010. In March 2013, when the Family Preservation Team's grant funding expired, Ms. Martin was transferred to supervise the Full Service Partnership Unit, a team that services youth and families with the most complex mental health needs. She accepted this challenge with enthusiasm.

Ms. Martin has been an integral member in the children's mental health programs due in part to her "can do" attitude, commitment, and true passion to promote the health and well-being of children and families. She spent over 18 years at Solano County serving children and families and worked tirelessly to reduce the stigma that is associated with accessing behavioral health treatment services. She exuded warmth and compassion when interacting with County clients and the public at large.
