DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Health & Social Services Department recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and a plaque of appreciation honoring Janetta F. Petit-Frere, Employment Resource Specialist II, who retired from Solano County with 21.5 years of distinguished service from January 30, 1996 to September 14, 2017 in the Health & Social Services Department's Employment & Eligibility Division.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Janetta F. Petit-Frere retired from Solano County on September 14, 2017 after 21.5 years of service to Solano County's Health & Social Services (H&SS) Department. Ms. Petit-Frere started her career as an Administrative Services Clerk on January 30, 1996. As an Administrative Services Clerk, she was responsible for administering the GAIN (Greater Avenues to Independence) Pre-Employment Preparation Program (PREP), where she was responsible for building worksites for participants on cash aid to gain work experience. She later promoted to Eligibility Worker where, after training to provide benefits to eligible participants, she returned to the GAIN PREP activity as the Coordinator. She also provided back up to the Cal-Learn and Self-Initiated Programs, both for continued education to cash aid participants. In October 1999, Ms. Petit-Frere's job title changed from Eligibility Worker to Employment Resource Specialist when she was assigned to the Retention Unit.
