DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Sheriff recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution to accept and adopt the Solano County 2017 Flood Safety Plans consisting of Emergency Response Plans and Maps for the levee maintaining agencies in the legal Delta.

SUMMARY:

The Solano County Flood Safety Plans consist of Emergency Response Plans and Maps to be utilized for emergency flood response and evacuation planning and evacuation routes for the 12 levee maintaining agencies (LMAs) in the legal Delta of the Solano County Operational Area. The plans provide the tools needed for the County and LMAs to better prepare and respond to flood emergencies and to keep the public safe.

The final deliverable outlined in the grant agreement with the California Department of Water Resources is the approval and adoption of the plans by the Solano County Board of Supervisors. Board action will have no impact on the County General Fund as the Flood Safety Plans do not financially obligate the County. The $374,600 project cost to complete the 2017 Flood Safety Plans was funded using California Department of Water Resources, Flood Emergency Response Project Delta Grant funds.

DISCUSSION:

On December 2, 2014 the Board of Supervisors authorized the Solano County Office of Emergency Services (...
