DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Health and Social Services Department (H&SS) recommends that the Board approve an Appropriation Transfer Request (ATR) of $275,630 recognizing unanticipated revenue for Fiscal Year 2017/18 for the Oral Health Program funded by the California Healthcare, Research and Prevention Tobacco Tax Act of 2016 and overseen by the California Department of Public Health to address education and prevention of dental diseases (4/5 vote required).

The five-year agreement with the California Department of Public Health totals $1,128,150 for the current period through June 30, 2022.

The ATR will reduce the budgeted amount of $50,000 in the Health Education program budget and increase the Oral Health program budget by $225,630 so the new award is correctly reflected in the H&SS budget. Funding will be used to address education and prevention of dental diseases.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Through the California Healthcare, Research and Prevention Tobacco Tax Act of 2016, the California Department ...
